How we can help

Practical support for NDIS participants, older Australians and veterans, shaped around everyday life, individual goals and greater independence.

NDIS support

Flexible support across daily living, community participation, personal activities, life skills, transport and more. We work with you to make everyday tasks more manageable while building skills and confidence along the way.

Aged Care

Support through the Support at Home program to help older Australians remain comfortable, active and connected. Assistance is shaped around your routines, preferences and what helps you continue living well at home.

DVA

Respectful, dependable support for veterans who need assistance with everyday life. We take the time to understand your circumstances and provide practical help that works around your needs and routines.

NDIS support

Our NDIS support is focused on helping you take part in everyday life with greater confidence and choice. Depending on your needs and goals, this can include support at home, in the community, while travelling, developing skills or working towards greater independence.

Our services:

Supported Independent Living can include regular help with the everyday responsibilities that come with living in your own home or a shared home. We can assist with personal care, preparing meals, cleaning, laundry, shopping, appointments, medication prompts, routines and other day-to-day tasks.

Just as importantly, we can help you build confidence with the parts of daily living you would like to manage more independently. That might mean learning how to prepare simple meals, take more responsibility for your room, plan your week or become more involved in decisions about your home and routines.

Shared living involves more than simply completing household jobs. We can help you take part in the routines that keep a home running, while supporting you to build practical skills and confidence along the way.

Support may include meal planning and preparation, cleaning shared areas, laundry, shopping, organising personal belongings, following household routines and learning how to contribute to shared responsibilities. We can also provide prompting, guidance or hands-on assistance depending on how much support you need with each task.

We can assist with personal activities that are part of your everyday routine, including showering, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, transfers and other personal care needs.

Our approach is guided by your preferences, comfort and level of independence. Some people may need hands-on assistance, while others may only need prompting, supervision or help with certain parts of a routine. We can work with you to make these tasks feel more manageable while respecting your privacy, dignity and the way you prefer things to be done.

We can help with the practical household jobs that can become difficult, tiring or overwhelming to manage on your own.

This may include cleaning, laundry, changing bed linen, washing dishes, tidying, organising household items, meal preparation and other everyday tasks around the home. Where appropriate, we can also work alongside you rather than simply doing everything for you, helping you build routines, learn new skills and become more confident managing parts of your home independently.

Support Coordination can help make your NDIS plan easier to understand and use. We can work with you to identify what support you need, connect with suitable providers and organise services that align with your goals and circumstances.

We can also help coordinate communication between providers, resolve service issues, prepare for changes in your support needs and keep track of what is working well. With David’s background in case management and service coordination, Shepherd Support Services brings practical experience in helping people navigate multiple providers, changing circumstances and more complex support arrangements.

We can support you to build the practical skills, routines and confidence needed to prepare for work, start employment or maintain a job over time.

This might include developing workplace communication, improving time management, planning transport, establishing morning routines, understanding workplace expectations or building confidence in new environments. We can also work with you on barriers that may be making employment harder to manage, helping you develop strategies that support greater consistency and independence at work.

Life skills support is about building practical abilities that can make everyday life easier and give you greater control over your routines.

We can work with you on cooking, budgeting, grocery shopping, planning meals, organising appointments, using public transport, managing time, household routines, communication and other skills linked to your goals. Support can be broken down into manageable steps, with opportunities to practise regularly so you can build confidence rather than feeling rushed to learn everything at once.

We can support you to get out into the community and take part in activities that are important to you.

That might include shopping, attending appointments, going to the gym, visiting a library, joining a local activity, catching up with friends, attending events or spending time in places you enjoy. We can provide the level of assistance you need while also helping you become more familiar with your community, make choices about how you spend your time and feel more confident getting involved.

Innovative Community Participation can help you explore new opportunities to learn, connect and become more involved in community life.

We can work with you to identify activities that match your interests and goals, whether that means joining a group, developing social confidence, learning a new skill, volunteering or becoming involved in a local community activity. The focus is on helping you try new experiences, build relationships and develop skills that may open up further opportunities over time.

Group and Centre-Based Activities can provide opportunities to socialise, learn, build confidence and enjoy shared interests with other people.

Activities may include creative programs, games, cooking, outings, social groups, skill-building activities or other structured programs. We can support you to take part at a level that feels comfortable, help you communicate and engage with others, and encourage you to become more involved as your confidence grows.

We can help you get to the places you need and want to go, including appointments, work, shopping, community activities, social outings and other everyday destinations.

Support may include travelling with you, helping you plan where you are going, working out routes, preparing for unfamiliar trips or building confidence using public transport where appropriate. The aim is to make getting around easier while helping you feel more confident and independent with travel over time.

Aged Care

Through the Support at Home program, Shepherd Support Services helps older Australians remain independent, connected and comfortable in their own homes.

The type of support you need may change over time, so we take a practical and respectful approach to everyday assistance. We work around your routines and preferences while helping you continue doing the things that are important to you.

Whether that means a little extra help at home, getting out into the community or maintaining your usual activities, our focus is on making daily life easier without taking away the independence you value.
